First-moms -to-be usually start decorating the baby’s room right away! It is the excitement and joy that leads them to realize how quickly it can get really expensive. I am not a mom yet, but I am planning to be one really soon. I believe most prospective moms like me are already thinking the same thing about decorating their future baby’s room. So I came up with these room ideas that I believe it can help most ladies make wise decisions before they splurge on the bigger items that really need to be bought.

Repurpose things you already have in your home. It can be that an old oak dresser that was sitting in your closet that you thought you did not want anymore. Probably it is totally outdated and definitely not our style, but guess what? You can give that dresser a makeover! You can paint it with a fun pewter color, add new hardware, and end up with a brand new dresser that will look amazing in the baby’s room! Moral of the story: don't be afraid (and this goes for me too!) to fix up old furniture to give it new life for your future baby's room.

Books make great decorations. Personally, I love reading and I think that is one of the things I will enjoy the most with my kids: Reading for them! Books are a great way to add color and the fun part is that they come in all different sizes — they're great ways to fill empty space and fit with any baby girl room ideas that will inspire you and me. Plus, they're totally functional! So, I already know, we are going to have a bunch of books in that baby’s room! If you still have your books when you were a kid that would actually add a touch of vintage to your baby's room.

Look into custom made baby bedding. This makes us think having a custom made bedding might be very expensive, but it doesn’t have to be. It is definitely the opposite! When we start doing research about baby bedding, let’s keep in mind all the things that come in the prepackaged sets (like the bumper pad, which poses a SIDS risk). In my case, both my mom and mother in law love to sew and I already know our baby will get many custom made everything bedding from them, making the room even more special. So, only buying the pieces you really need, you can end up saving money.

Make some wall art. I love to paint! I am not a great painter, but sometimes I can come up with awesome pieces of “art” that look good. Also, we have some relatives that love painting, making this situation even better! What is better than having custom made art for your baby!!! Absolutely beautiful and has a ton of sentimental value, plus it can be used for all of your future children's rooms.
